# How can I duplicate a layer?

|| The duplicate option is only available in the desktop version.

Duplicating the text or photos in an existing design is easy. To do so, follow these steps:

1. **Click** once on the element you want to duplicate.
2. A sidebar will appear on the left. Hit the **Duplicate** option.
3. A copy of the layer will appear above all other layers. The new layer will inherit any effects or settings applied to the original.
